Among the many highlights at NAMM this year was the presentation of a copy of Zig Kanstul: Last of the Great Masters to Joe Lamond, NAMM president, by Jack Kanstul. It will be added to the library collection at the NAMM headquarters in Carlsbad, California.
We had a big response from dealers and players at the show. Featured was Wallace Roney’s personal Model 1603+ trumpet, which was the hit of the booth. A real treat was the live concert by the Wallace Roney Quintet on Saturday night at the Kanstul factory. What a tribute to Wallace, his amazing group and the man who designed his horn—the late Zig Kanstul. It just doesn’t get any better than this in the music industry. Stay tuned for the release of the concert video!
