Youth on the Move is an educational organization with the mission of helping youth succeed by providing exposure to positive community role models. They will be holding their 2017 International Educators Hall of Fame 2017 Induction Ceremony on Saturday, November 11, at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim. Inductees include Paul Kurtz, a trumpeter who has been an inspiration to other blind musicians in his advocacy of braille musical notation. Also to be inducted are Zig Kanstul and the Kanstul family, for work in advancing the art of brass instrument making and in raising the level of youth music activities, such as drum corps and bands, through the development of new and better instruments. Zig’s role in mentoring artists and craftsmen throughout his lifetime will be featured.
As part of the sponsorship, Kanstul has donated a Model 730 cornet in silver with some nice gold-plate touches for the silent auction.
