The Model 1508 large bore tenor trombone was developed for players who wanted a lighter, centered, soloistic horn with fast response. With a light, one piece hand hammered bronze bell carefully matched with a bronze tuning slide and hand slide, the Model 1508 offers a malleable tone, providing the working player and soloist with an instrument which allows your distinctive style to project effortlessly.
The hand slide is slightly narrower than on our 1570, allowing for a more comfortable grip for those players with medium size hands. We've also improved its response with nickel outer sleeves turned to .010". This allows effortless playing, but their weight and hardness improve projection and tone at higher volumes.
We include three removable mouthpipes to easily tailor the response to your style. These pipes are based on some vintage favorites: Los Angeles Philharmonic player Byron Peeble's NY Bach original, and two Conn-style pipes made by the great L.A. horn maker Larry Minick.
